Farm work is fun!

Farm work abroad is very popular with our volunteers. In order to work on a farm in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Europe, you usually do not need any special previous knowledge. Are you the type of farm work?

Have you often worked in the garden, in the field or in the stable? Do you enjoy physical work outdoors? Then farm work is definitely the right thing for you! Depending on the area of ​​use and the season, you sow and harvest vegetables, help with mowing, feed the farm animals or fish, make honey, plant trees and much more. In most of our projects, sustainable agriculture is practiced using modern methods, which is certainly very exciting for you.

What are the requirements for farm work?

You should of course enjoy being in nature and not have any problems getting dirty or working in bad weather. As in other projects, it is important in farm work that you are happy to get involved in new situations and that you want to learn continuously. You are guaranteed not only to take on work that you already know!

Previous agricultural knowledge is of course a plus, but in most farm projects it is not a requirement for the volunteer job. Furthermore, you should have good knowledge of English in order to be able to exchange ideas with your colleagues in the project. If you have the opportunity to learn a (further) national language on site, take the opportunity! Especially in rural areas, many people speak little or no English.

Which countries offer farm work?

We offer farm work with different focuses in several countries worldwide. Below are a few examples:

Farm work in Uganda

On our farm in Uganda the employees practice sustainable agriculture and pass on their knowledge to the local population. They raise poultry, goats, pigs, rabbits, cattle, fish and keep bees. They also grow green tea and various types of vegetables and fruit, have a tree nursery and produce organic fertilizer and biogas.

Farm work in Senegal

A coalition of young farmers in the southwest Senegal's is involved in various areas on site. Here, for example, there is a farm founded by the organization that develops new agricultural practices through organic farming methods and BIO concepts. As a volunteer, you can learn an incredible amount about nature conservation and sustainable agriculture.

Farm work in Ghana

For several decades, our Farms in Ghana contributes significantly to the food supply of the residents in the region. On the large farm, various crops and crops are grown; the care of the plants is the focus. In addition, the farmers create new fields and maintain them.

Farm work in Vietnam

In Vietnam is organic farm work not very common as many farmers fear high costs and poor sales. Our sustainable, ecological farm wants to set a good example and break down prejudices.
