Volunteering with Birds & Penguins

Birds are fascinating animals that are spread all over the world - some shine in the most dazzling colors, others impress with beautiful songs, birds of prey in turn captivate with their razor-sharp beaks and claws. What most birds have in common is their ability to fly - but there are some exceptions, such as ostriches, kiwis or penguins, which cannot fly.

Penguins are perfectly adapted to aquatic life with their ability to dive, making them an important indicator of the balance of marine ecosystems. Their conspecifics on land and in the air also play a major role in the environment by, among other things, spreading seeds and pollinating flowers.

However, various influences are causing these sensitive ecosystems to falter, which means that some bird species and penguins are threatened with extinction.

Would you like to learn more about these fascinating animals and do your bit to protect them? Then volunteering with völgen and penguins could be just the thing for you!
