Volunteering in Zimbabwe

An adventure awaits you in a vast steppe landscape during your volunteer work in Zimbabwe. The dry savannah is home to a variety of wildlife, including rare elephants and rhinos. A special highlight awaits you on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia: There, the Victoria Falls thunder down over a hundred meters, which have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1989.

Volunteering in Zimbabwe

Your destination country Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is largely undeveloped for tourism. Accordingly, large parts of the country appear untouched. At the same time, the population, especially outside the cities, is very poor. People who can no longer support themselves through agriculture or tourism often resort to poaching.

Therefore, poverty is a major burden for both people and animals in Zimbabwe. As a volunteer you can work here in the national park to protect endangered species and to support the people of Zimbabwe.

Locations for your volunteer work in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe offers breathtaking landscapes. The country is probably best known for the famous Victoria Falls, but Zimbabwe also has a lot to offer in other respects, such as the Mana Pools National Park and Lake Kariba, which is the fifth largest reservoir in the world.

Our projects are located in a national park near Victoria Falls, a city in western Zimbabwe. The region is still little developed for tourism and offers an authentic impression of Africa. As a volunteer in Wildlife Project you live with our team in a guest house on site, near the Victoria Falls.

Things to do in Zimbabwe

As part of a day trip, you can also visit the famous Victoria Falls, which give the city its name. You can also book adventure tours such as a zip line ride over the waterfalls yourself.
