Responsibility for our volunteers

It is certainly a good feeling to have found the organization you trust, because it is ultimately one of the most important basic requirements to register for a volunteer program or internship abroad.

Supporting a project abroad as a volunteer is an excellent opportunity to both make a meaningful contribution and develop yourself further. To ensure that everything runs smoothly during this special experience, we will accompany you throughout the entire process.

We as an organization take care of before, during and after your time abroad Responsibility.
In the following, we will show you our self-image for responsible foreign programs and the standards we feel obliged to comply with:

Before departure

Travel preparation and preparatory seminar

Before embarking on your great adventure abroad, you're bound to have some questions and possibly worries. We make sure that you are well prepared for your trip. After all, it is a carefully planned and executed Travel preparation an indispensable part for us to guarantee you a carefree and safe time abroad.

We support you in your travel preparations and are at your side with advice and experience on the topics of health care, visas and flights. Feel free to ask us your questions so that together we can eliminate all uncertainties.

Personal preparation for your upcoming stay abroad is just as important to us. At the RGV preparatory seminars, you will learn, among other things, methods of preventing culture shock. We also talk about development policy issues and work out practical approaches with you on how you can best integrate into everyday life and the way of life in your host country. The seminar is also a good way to get to know other volunteers and exchange ideas.

Trained and experienced coordinators

The RGV coordinators are the employees who advise you from the first contact with RGV and prepare you for your time abroad. With us, the coordinators are divided into competence teams for specific countries, so that everyone keeps the focus on their own target countries. So you can always rely on well-trained coordinators with international experience who will accompany you individually and personally right up to your departure and leave no questions unanswered.

Adaptation to individual needs

Creating a personal and individual atmosphere is very important to us, as is open and trusting communication. We take the time for you and respond to your needs.

Tell us what is important to you. For example, we can address special eating habits or previous illnesses and inform the team on site accordingly.

Discreet handling of sensitive information

For us it goes without saying that we will not pass on your data or sensitive information to anyone without your consent. We also deal with this responsibly.

On site

Our responsibility does not end with your departure. After you have finally started your great adventure and have arrived in the destination country, trained and experienced teams await you on site. They will accompany you during your volunteer work or your internship and are always there for you as contact persons.

Before you start working on the project, there is an orientation program that prepares you for your tasks as well as for everyday life on site. This gives you the opportunity to get to know your new home and your colleagues and to get used to everything before you really get started.

You can be sure that you are supporting a meaningful project and that your commitment is helping to improve the situation. We also work with certified host families at our project locations - so your safety is also taken care of here. The other types of accommodation, such as volunteer houses or apartments, are also carefully selected. Here you will get to know other volunteers and quickly become part of the local community.

If difficulties arise during your stay, the on-site team is always available for you. You can also contact our team in Munich - we will be happy to help you! There is also a 24/7 emergency number for urgent emergencies.

After return

When your volunteering abroad is finally over and you are back home with a lot of new experiences, friendships and great memories, we are still there for you. After such a special and intense time, you might want to reflect on the whole thing, share your experiences and exchange ideas with like-minded people.

Perhaps your assignment abroad also motivated you to continue to volunteer? Of course we would be very happy about that! We offer you the opportunity to network with other returnees, to exchange ideas and, if necessary, to set up your own projects.
