In over 20 years we have collected many milestones & successes. Read here what we have already achieved:
Chronological progression since 1999
1999 / Founding of the organization Rainbow Garden Village (RGV). The organization is based in the rural region of Lake Bosomtwe in Ghana. The purpose of the non-profit company is to promote education at Lake Bosomtwe.
2000 / The first RGV volunteers support and teach at the rural schools at Lake Bosomtwe.
2003 / Opening of the Rainbow Garden Village volunteer house. On the shores of Lake Bosomtwe, this lodging housed student teachers who taught at the lakeside schools.
2005 / For the first time, more than 100 volunteers are sent to Ghana in a calendar year.
2006 / RGV transfers the existing volunteer concept to other African countries. South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda are added.
2008 / RGV transfers the existing volunteer concept to other Asian countries. Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and Nepal are added.
2008 / Founding of the association Rainbow over Ghana eV
2010 / For the first time, the benchmark of 500 volunteers sent in a calendar year is broken.
2011 / The volunteer organization Rainbow Garden Village (RGV) based in Munich emerges from the former Ghanaian organization.
2013 / The Rainbow Garden Village brand is transferred to RGV practicals and travel GmbH.
2015 / The Ways Abroad brand goes live. On the portal wege-ins-auslande.de all forms of travel and gap year offers for schoolchildren, high school graduates and students are dealt with.
2017 / For the first time, the benchmark of 1000 RGV volunteers sent in a calendar year is broken.
2018 / Opening of the RGV branch in Liverpool, England. Rainbow Garden Village UK sends volunteers from England to all RGV target countries.
2019 / The Auslandspraktikum.de brand goes live. On the portal auslandspraktikum.de all topics related to the topic of internships abroad are dealt with.
2019 / RGV transfers the existing volunteer concept to European countries. 12 European target countries are added.
2020 / RGV celebrates its 20th anniversary.
2020 / Move to larger offices at Rosenkavalierplatz 18 in Munich.
2020 / The ManaTapu brand of ManaTapu GmbH is transferred to RGV. From now on, the volunteer programs in Latin America will be included in the RGV travel portfolio.
2021 / The Sustainable Travel brand goes live. On the portal sustainable-travel.org all topics related to sustainable travel are dealt with.
2022 / Australia and New Zealand are new volunteer locations in Oceania.
2022 / The Rainbow Garden Village organization becomes a non-profit limited company (gGmbH).
