Teach English in a kindergarten in Thailand
- Directly at the sea
- High recreational value
- Diverse cuisine
Knowledge of English is very valuable in today's globalized world. However, due to the lack of teachers, not all children in Thailand have access to language classes. Help with this project to design the English lessons in a kindergarten and teach the children the new language. At the same time you can explore the beautiful area around Hua Hin together with other volunteers.
What's the matter?
Not all children in Thailand have access to English classes. As a world language, however, English is important for many to learn, as this knowledge influences career prospects. The organization wants to make language classes available to all young local learners, regardless of their social class. Many state institutions lack the financial means to hire English teachers, especially for young students.
That's why the local schools and kindergartens always welcome volunteers to help here. The use of volunteers enables the children to learn English in a playful way. At the same time, both sides get an insight into another culture.
In Thailand, kindergartens are often integrated into schools. The children you look after are between 2 and 6 years old.
The organization wants to offer the underprivileged local people more opportunities. With the support of the volunteers, all children should be able to take English lessons.
Your tasks as a volunteer
During your stay you will look after the children in the kindergarten and teach them English in a playful way. You prepare timetables, design and conduct the lessons. You will receive support from another teacher in the classroom. Outside of class hours, you can exchange ideas with other teachers and spend time with the children during the breaks.
Normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 8.00:16.00 a.m. - 20:25 p.m. Most volunteers work around XNUMX-XNUMX hours a week.
The easiest way to get to the project is by public transport. Depending on which kindergarten you work in, you need about 5-20 minutes. The ticket costs between 50 and 300 Thai Baht per trip, depending on the means of transport.

During the project you will stay in a shared accommodation, a traditional Thai house, with other volunteers. A total of 12 people can be accommodated here.
There are two dormitories in the volunteer accommodation, both equipped with air conditioning. One of the rooms can accommodate up to 4 people, while the other room can accommodate 8 people.
The bathrooms are also shared with the other volunteers. The property also offers WiFi access. People like to sit together and spend time in the garden.
Single rooms in a local hotel are also possible on request.
Surroundings
The property is very well located, very close to a coffee shop and a restaurant that serves fantastic food. Shopping malls, bars, fitness centers and markets are also not far away. You can reach public transport in a short time and the team on site is right across the street and is always there for you.
The nearest town can easily be reached by public transport and is not far away.
events and leisure
Social events are ubiquitous in Thailand. The local team often welcomes new volunteers with a dinner, for example, but is also happy to organize a social event for the volunteers.
You can also take part in a selection of courses and excursions. You should definitely take part in a few of them together with the other volunteers to get to know the culture and traditions of Thailand better.
Location
Hua Hin
Hua Hin is located in central Thailand on the Gulf of Thailand. The place is mainly known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and is therefore a popular bathing resort. But the city has also retained its traditional charm.
In addition to the beaches, Hua Hin is also known for its night market. Here you can buy everything your heart desires: There is not only traditional food here, but also handmade art objects, as well as clothing and souvenirs.
Another attraction is the old railway station in Hua Hin. It is considered one of the first railway stations in Thailand, because the royal family used to like to travel by train to their summer residence in Hua Hin. Hua Hin's nature is at least as spectacular. Vineyards, caves and waterfalls in the middle of a pristine rainforest can be found here.
So if you like spending time at the beach, this place is ideal for you! But you can also discover the local culture and everyday life of the locals as well as different landscapes here - best through the many activities offered on site.
Your free time in Hua Hin
Your free time in Hua Hin
Hua Hin is a city with an incredible number of facets: It offers you an ideal combination of a relaxed beach atmosphere, traditional Thai culture and the advantages of a modern city. Immerse yourself in the cultural diversity of Thailand and visit one of the many temples that decorate the city. Stroll through the famous Night Market where you can buy clothes, souvenirs or handmade art and taste traditional food. In addition, you can benefit from the lively city center with its many restaurants, shopping centers and gyms that are close to your accommodation.
If instead you long for some distance from the urban hustle and bustle, the endless palm-fringed sandy beaches offer you the perfect place to relax. Lay down in the sun and enjoy the relaxed beach vibes. The beaches also offer you the opportunity to play beach volleyball, snorkel or go horseback riding on the beach - so sports lovers also get their money's worth in Hua Hin.
In general, not only the beaches, but the entire nature of Hua Hin is incredibly spectacular. The city is the ideal starting point for excursions to impressive national parks. This includes, for example, the Kaeng Krachan National Park, about 60 kilometers away, where you can discover breathtaking waterfalls and a beautiful stalactite cave. Adventure seekers will definitely get their money's worth here - the roaring streams and rivers invite you to go on wild rafting tours. In addition, you should not miss the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. The legendary Phraya Nakhon Cave awaits you here, where after a strenuous climb you can see a spectacular cave system, inside which there is even a small pavilion. The park is also home to monkeys, mountain goats, leopards and wild boars, which you can experience up close.
In Thailand, you are also offered various leisure programs that you can optionally book on site. These include a Thai cooking class, a trip to an animal sanctuary, a Muay Thai lesson, an excursion to a temple and a trip to the nearest national park. Together with other volunteers, you have the opportunity to delve deeper into the culture and traditions of the country.
Thailand is well known for various festivals, which are also celebrated in Hua Hin. An example of this is the Thai light festival Loy Krathong, one of the most important and probably also the most beautiful festivals in Thailand. Here, people gather at a river, where they float candles and incense sticks on small rafts into the water. Another festival you shouldn't miss if you're in Thailand in April is the Songkran Festival, the traditional Thai New Year celebration. While in the country people still celebrate according to old traditions, wild water fights take place on the streets in the city.
In general, social events are very popular in Thailand. The team in Thailand will endeavor to organize a welcome dinner and other social events where possible. In Hua Hin you will certainly not get bored as a volunteer.
