Media and marketing project in Senegal

What's the matter

The non-profit organization in Senegal is involved in various areas such as water supply through the construction of wells, sanitation and irrigation systems, organic farming, agriculture and forestry, environmental protection and the construction of ecological buildings to set up training centers. This volunteer project has a particular focus on audiovisual media, computer graphics, film production and the training of young talent in Senegal.

Due to the high level of poverty in Senegal, the implementation of many projects is difficult, which is why volunteers are always welcome. Support is particularly needed with visual communication and the development of training programs to present the association and the projects.

The organization aims to promote environmental awareness, educate young people in Senegal and support poor families. However, the team lacks both the time budget and the financial resources to effectively present the project work digitally, attract partners and coordinate donations. That's why the team is always happy to have dedicated volunteers!

Your tasks as a volunteer

Your tasks in the project can look very different and depend on your interests and skills. In general, the program combines theoretical learning and exchange with practical activities and excursions. For example, you go on trips to other association farms and see how the community is connected to local nature.

Your tasks could include the following:

  • Assist the organization's office with website maintenance and IT issues
  • Public relations on social media: Design and publication of reels on Instagram, blog posts on Facebook and LinkedIn as well as on other channels
  • Writing articles and contributions for various projects in the areas of environmental protection, education, agriculture and ecological architecture or on the subject of water
  • Support in raising awareness of environmental protection and intercultural exchange
  • Supporting the organization in the city and assisting the trainer Saddam in conducting workshops for the project team and young talents in Senegal

A typical working day for you could be that you are at the project at 8:30 a.m. and have breakfast there. Your tasks for the day will then be discussed. If your place of work is further away, you will be taken there by motorbike or carriage. There you will usually work six hours a day and have free time for the rest of the day and on weekends.
