Day 1 -

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, an RGV team member will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Later in the day we explore the district of Thamel, a kind of tourist center within the Nepalese capital, on a small tour.

Day 2 -

Flight Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding (2691 m)

After breakfast you go straight to the airport. From here you fly to Lukla, the starting point of our trekking tour and meet the guides and porters for the first time, who will accompany you on the tour that is now beginning. After that we start trekking together until we reach the village of Phakding where we spend the night. (B, M, A)

Day 3 -

Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3450 m)

Together we make our way to Namche Bazaar, the capital and most important trading center of the Sherpas. We follow the course of the Dudh Koshi River and soon enter Everest National Park. After crossing the Hillary Bridge, the path leads us steeply uphill. If the visibility is good, we can catch a glimpse of the goal of our tour for the first time - Mount Everest.

We are now in the "inner Himalayas" and are completely surrounded by six, seven and eight thousand meter peaks. Finally, after about 5,5 hours of trekking, we reach Namche Bazar. Here you stay for two nights in a lodge.

Day 4 -

Namche Bazar (3450 m) - rest day for acclimatization

In Namche Bazar, a day's rest is announced. This gives you enough time to get used to the altitude and the climate in the high mountains. But you won't get bored in your free time. For example, you have the opportunity to visit the Sagarmatha National Park Museum. A unique mountain panorama opens up from its viewing area with a view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku and various other peaks of the Khumbu region. (B, M, A)

Namche Bazaar in Nepal
Day 5 -

Namche Bazaar - Tengboche (3867 m)

From Namche Bazar we start our great trekking adventure. On our way to the village of Sangnasa we enjoy a breathtaking view of the Dudh Koshi river valley, which we cross again on a suspension bridge after leaving the village.

We then first reach Phunki Drengka before arriving in Tengboche after a strenuous two-hour climb. After about six hours of hiking, you can reward yourself with the view of the surrounding mountains and river valleys. (B, M, A)

Day 6 -

Tengboche - Dingboche (4270 m)

From Tengboche our path leads us through birches, junipers and rhododendrons to Ani Gompa, the nunnery in Deboche at 3770 meters. We cross the Imja Khola river and then climb even higher, all the while enjoying great views of the iconic peak of Ama Dablam.

We continue to follow the route over scree deserts and glacial moraines until we finally reach Pheriche. After six to seven hours of hiking, you will get your well-deserved sleep here. (B, M, A)

Trekking in the mountains of the Himalayas
Day 7 -

Dingboche - Lobuche (4930 m)

Above the tree line, at an altitude of 4270 meters, we continue hiking. First through the village of Dughla and then further along the Khumbu glacial moraine until we reach Lobuche after about five hours. From here, at almost 5000 meters, you have a great view of the snow-capped peak of Pumo Ri. The mountain is right next to Mount Everest, on the border of Nepal and China. (B, M, A)

Day 8 -

Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5170 m)

One of the most strenuous days of our trip is now on the agenda. Our route first takes us along the Khumbu Glacier and finally over the ice stream. We need almost two hours just to cross the glacier. Then we continue over rock rubble and rubble to Gorak Shep. After four to five hours of trekking, you will sleep here for the first time at over 5000 meters. (B, M, A)

Trek to Mount Everest Base Camp
Day 9 -

Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar (5525 m), Everest Base Camp

Today we get up very early. Long before sunrise we set out to climb Kala Patthar. The strenuous ascent to the rocky peak south of Pumo Ri takes about 1,5 hours, but the incredible views will make this feat quickly forgotten.

The 360-degree view of the highest mountains on our planet leaves even the most experienced mountaineers in awe. Mount Everest, which towers over the Himalayas just nine kilometers as the crow flies, offers a particularly impressive sight. As you enjoy the view, the snow-capped peaks around you begin to shimmer in various shades of red and orange in the light of the rising sun. A play of colors that you won't soon forget.

Between huge creaking glaciers and the mighty peaks of the Himalayas, you still have some time to adequately enjoy the spectacular view. Then we descend again to Gorak Shep. After a short trip to Everest Base Camp, we will also spend the night here. (B, M, A)

Day 10 -

Gorak Shep-Pheriche

After the big highlight of our trip, the days of descent are now beginning for us. We set off from Gorak Shep. Today's destination is Pheriche. (B, M, A)

Day 11 -

Pheriche-Tengboche

After breakfast we continue to climb down the valley. From Pheriche we hike through several small villages and again cross the Imja Khola until we finally reach Tengboche. (B, M, A)

Day 12 -

Tengboche - Namche Bazaar - Manjo

After a steep descent, including via the Dudh Koshi valley, we first reach the village of Tashinga and later in the day the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazar. After two more hours of hiking we arrive in Manjo where we spend the night. (B, M, A)
