Wildlife and environmental protection project in Greece

The work in the project

The program strikes a good balance between work, study, purpose and leisure. Besides work, I also had a lot of time to relax, meditate and enjoy the island. This combination allowed for a deeper understanding and feeling of the island as something that is almost alive and breathing. Therefore, while working, I felt not only that I was doing something good, but also that I was showing commitment to the island of Kalamos and its problems.

The work itself is very interesting and leaves room for creativity. I liked that very much.

The team on site

Ted was a wonderful host, conversations with him were always insightful. He had a lot to tell, whether about the history of the island or the various dangers that lurk on Kalamos and that we try to minimize with our work.

Lodging

The research station has everything I needed: fast wifi, a kitchen, a bed, a fire and a beautiful view! I particularly liked the hammocks and the garden.

All in all, it's an experience I will always remember fondly and I highly recommend.
