The work in the Children Center

I'm Christina, 22 years old and I spent a month in Cape Town at the Dove Road Children Center with my girlfriend.

The working hours were very pleasant (from 08:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) from Monday to Friday. So we had enough time for the rest of the day and on the weekends to see Cape Town and the surrounding area. 

We had a program every day and always did something with the group.

Leisure time in Cape Town

I saw the most beautiful sunsets, was on Table Mountain, at Cape Point and with the penguins. There are also lots of cute cafes and restaurants.

Finally, we did a 3-day Garden Route with safari, rounding off our stay perfectly.

There are a lot of different things to do in Cape Town and everyone gets their money's worth. 

My conclusion of the trip

The work was very challenging and interesting. I am very grateful to have come into such close contact with the local people and to be a part of them.

I found it particularly exciting to experience the process and educational methods up close and personally. The children are very open and have no fear of contact, which makes getting started much easier.

You just have to get involved in the work and you'll really have a good time there.
