My experience of volunteering at the Children Center in Cusco

Arrivals

As soon as I entered the facility, I was greeted by a warm atmosphere. The Children Center in Cusco exuded a loving environment. The employees were friendly and involved us volunteers from the start. The team in the project as well as the team in the accommodation were very committed and their passion for working with the children was clearly noticeable.

Work in the project

During my stay I had the opportunity to work with children of different ages. We played together, learned and shared many precious moments. It was impressive to see how quickly the children opened up and bonded with us.

The Children Center offered a variety of activities aimed at promoting the children's physical, mental and emotional development. We helped them with their studies, carried out creative projects and did sports activities.

The close contact with the children was particularly moving for me. I listened to their stories and got to know their daily challenges. It was not always easy to deal with the difficult circumstances they faced, but I was deeply impressed by their positive attitude and courage. The children were so grateful for any support they received and their unwavering will to improve their lives was inspiring.

In addition to the work in the children's center, the volunteer project also offered the opportunity to get to know Peruvian culture. We were encouraged to attend local events, taste traditional food and explore the local area. These cultural experiences were a really cool addition to my volunteer work and I'm sure they will stay with me for a long time.

All in all, participating in this volunteer project at the Children Center in Peru was an enriching and fulfilling experience. Not only have I had a positive impact on the children's lives, but they have enriched my life. I can only recommend everyone to take part in such a project.
