Bali Culture Tour Monkey Forest
Day 1 -

Monkey Forest and local market

Pancakes, toast, fresh fruit, coffee and regional tea specialties - our culture tour in Bali begins with a delicious breakfast together before we start the day freshly strengthened and motivated. But before we get started, there is still a short introductory event on the program. Here you get a first overview of culture, traditions and conditions in Bali.

But enough of the theory! Together with a local guide we make our way to Ubud before lunch. The small town in the south of the island is considered the cultural center of Bali and is the best place to authentically experience the local way of life and traditions. On foot we explore the Monkey Forest, with its hundreds of free-roaming monkeys, and the local market. If you want, you can buy great souvenirs here. But you can also simply let yourself drift through the alleys in the midst of the colorful masses.

After an exciting first day, we return to our accommodation for dinner. Later we end the evening with a traditional Balinese dance show. (B, M, A)

Bali Culture Tour Penglipuran
Day 2 -

Language course, visit to Penglipuran village, rice terrace

After a delicious breakfast, today we dedicate ourselves to a very special point of our cultural program - our first Balinese language course. A local teacher teaches us the first words and sentences in the regional language. This not only helps us communicate with the locals, but also allows us to develop an even deeper understanding of the island's culture.

After lunch you will have the opportunity to apply what you have learned directly in practice. Today's excursion takes us to the village of Penglipuran. The villagers here are known for preserving traditional Balinese ways of life and integrating the historical cultural techniques into their daily lives. There is hardly a better place for intercultural exchange and an authentic insight into the island's way of life.

After learning a lot about the history and life in Bali in Penglipuran, we drive back to Ubud and visit one of the impressive rice terraces there. In the evening we have dinner together. (B, M, A)

Bali Culture Tour Batik Course
Day 3 -

Language course and batik course

Our second Balinese lesson takes place right after breakfast today. We will deepen what we learned yesterday before our batik course begins after lunch. With the help of traditional handicraft techniques, we learn how to dye garments correctly and create the trendy batik look (or "tie dye").

Another advantage: the dyed clothes are not only a real eye-catcher, but also a great souvenir that you can take home with you. After we have lived out creatively, we have dinner together at the accommodation. (B, L, D)

Bali Culture Tour Canang Sari
Day 4 -

Cooking class and flower binding class

Nasi goreng, mie goreng, gado gado or satĂ© skewers - Indonesian cuisine is known for a variety of delicious and healthy dishes. Today we not only have the pleasure of trying some of them. During our Balinese cooking class we will also learn how to cook them properly.

Freshly strengthened by our self-cooked lunch, we set off again immediately after our cooking lesson. Today's goal: Our Canang Sari course. A canang sari is a traditional flower offering similar to a flower arrangement. In honor of Acintya, the supreme god of the Balinese Hindus, they take off the canang sari in front of temples and shrines.

In the flower binding course we learn more about the spiritual meaning of the Canang Sari and make our own offering. Later we end our day with a dinner together. (B, M, A)

Bali Culture Tour Water Temples
Day 5 -

Water Temple "Pura Tirta Empul"

Our last day in Bali begins with a breakfast together. Then we literally embark on a spiritual journey. Because: We visit the almost 1000 year old water temple "Pura Tirta Empul", one of the most important religious sanctuaries in Bali. However, before we can cleanse ourselves with the holy water, we must first offer a sacrifice in front of the temple. How good that you are the proud owner of a Canang Sari since yesterday.

After the flower offering in honor of the holy temple, the purification ritual begins. As required by the prescribed ritual process, you purify yourself in three pools of holy water from a total of 21 springs until you are rid of all your demons, negative thoughts and problems. After the 30 to 45 minute ceremony we will have lunch together with the local residents.

Back at the accommodation we gather in our travel group, talk about our journey together and reflect on our experiences and impressions. Afterwards we end our time in Bali with a final dinner. (B, M, A)
